Waterloo Regional Airport is a Non-Hub Primary Commercial Service Airport providing twice-daily commercial airline service to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) on American Airlines, where travelers can access over hundreds of both international and domestic destinations. Waterloo Regional Airport serves dozens of Iowa counties in addition to the Waterloo-Cedar Falls metro area and Cedar Valley Region, including:

All Federally Funded or State Funded projects are bid Statewide as recommended by either Federal or State requirements.Locally funded Requests for Qualifications (RFQ’s), Requests for Proposals (RFP’s), Local Concessions or In-Terminal advertising would be included in the local newspaper and via both the City of Waterloo and Airport Websites.

Waterloo Regional Airport is home to approximately 75 based aircraft, as well as a clean, 40,000+ square-foot, modern airport passenger terminal building with two gates, passenger boarding bridge, space for a restaurant and lounge concessionaire, and spacious aircraft storage hangars (pending size of the aircraft and height of the aircraft tail).

Economic Development and Leasing Opportunities

Waterloo Regional Airport Staff has oversight by a seven-member Airport Advisory Board, with members appointed by Waterloo’s mayor and final approval by the Waterloo City Council. Two (2) City Council members provide Board oversight as Liaisons of the City Council. Waterloo Regional Airport has an annual department operating budget of approximately $1.15M yet has an aggressive five-year, nearly $10,000,000 Airport Capital Improvement Plan (ACIP) and budget with these project funds, which are focused on the continued reconstruction of priority airfield pavement areas. Today, Airport Staff is pleased to report that Waterloo Regional Airport is financially self-sufficient and funds the day-to-day operation of the airport through tenant fees and charges. All of the above ACIP projects will be funded with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grants and Passenger Facility Charge (PFC) funds, which allows the City of Waterloo and Airport to provide the necessary match of federal funds from Washington, D.C.
