Founded in 1992, the Young Eagles program is dedicated to giving youth ages 8–17 an opportunity to go flying in a general aviation airplane. These flights are offered free of charge and are made possible through the generosity of EAA member volunteers.
It’s the only program of its kind, with the sole mission to introduce and inspire kids in the world of aviation.
The EAA Young Eagles will be offering the Kids Fly Free program at the Waterloo Regional Airport on Saturday, May 16, 2026, and Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 8 AM to noon. This program is for kids aged 8 through 17 to take a free airplane ride and learn about flying. Pre-registration is encouraged, and all registrations (online or walk-in registrations) must have a parent/legal guardian consent signed before the child’s flight.
Airplane rides will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. The ride will be 15 to 20 minutes.
